Mr Eugene had a great time performing the 80’s greats at a wonderful reception hall in Grand Rapids, Michigan in March. All but one person in the band was thrilled to play the great 1980’s music for guests of Lisa and Alex’s reception. The family wanted to hold the ceremony outdoors, and since their wedding planning didn’t forecast a lousy winter; there was no backup plan when things turned a little chilly that day. At least the reception was inside at the hotel banquet center where the cold night wasn’t noticeable with a hall filled to capacity. There was some spill over into the bar with the group but it was more than evident that the guests all had fun. In spite of the wild photo, everyone was well behaved, albeit most a bit happily tipsy. Aside from the odd partier who steps on my stage to attempt to sing and mostly just make my mic reek of booze, the show went well. If they’re shouting up at the stage, you’re doing it wrong. If they are clambering for the mic, then they just need the bartender to cut them off. Heck, I’ll sit out an entire set if the best man would rather provide the entertainment.
If they’re singing along and laughing it up, then you get hired again by someone at the party. Some people come to wedding receptions to party. Good old open bar never fails to loosen everyone up. LOL! Check this out. One of the guys who stood up for the groom was doing the… I honestly don’t know what dance it was but it was funny. I witnessed no twerking thankfully, just some people dancing to my tunes and having a good time while wearing very uncomfortable wedding clothes. I know because I was stuffed into a penguin suit for my own wedding just five months ago. Those tuxedos aren’t made for air circulation or smooth dance moves.
The whole band had fun and the bride and groom had a very special day and evening with the Pallisco band. Alex and Lisa pictured left. The party animals pictured top right are some of the actual wedding party. No pun intended. -Eugene out.
